WHO WE ARE?

m!lkup is a small family-run business rooted in the philosophy of whole food — minimal processing, pure ingredients, and respect for tradition. When it comes to dairy, we go back to the very origins: just milk and live cultures, nothing more. This is the farm-quality standard that has long been forgotten — and we are proud to bring it back.
Many of our recipes come from the older generation of our family, preserved with care and passed down through time. These traditional European dairy recipes are a part of our heritage — some we keep exactly as they were, others we have refined and developed — but all remain true to their essence. This legacy is one of our greatest treasures.
When we first arrived in Bali, we found that the dairy products we valued simply didn’t exist here. m!lkup began not as a business idea, but as a way to create the foods we ourselves needed. From this personal need grew a craft that we now share with others — a commitment to quality and authenticity that has shaped who we are today.
We have been making our products in Bali since 2013. Many members of our large team have been with us from the very beginning, growing from line workers to production leads. We create a community of like-minded people who share our values and pass on our recipes and traditions to the next generation.


HOW WE WORK?

Production

Our facilities are built to the highest standards, where quality, safety, and integrity come first. The layout ensures that production units never intersect, maintaining absolute cleanliness and proper workflow. We have separate wet, hot, cold, dairy, and packaging sections, along with designated unloading zones, storage areas, and office spaces.
All water, even for technical use, is purified through a multi-stage filtration system for exceptional cleanliness. Our facility is fully inspected and certified by local control authorities, including the Indonesian sanitary food service BPOM.

Laboratory

Since we are always deeply committed to quality and integrity, we have established our own in-house laboratory within the facility. Here, every batch of milk from our suppliers undergoes additional testing to confirm it meets our standards and principles.

Freshness

Our production works more like a restaurant’s live kitchen than a typical food factory — everything is made the same day it’s delivered, with no freezing or long-term storage. Dairy products are prepared overnight for morning delivery, ensuring peak freshness. Desserts and other items are made to order, with production starting as soon as the order is received. This “live kitchen” approach is our signature. When we say fresh, we mean truly made daily.

Recipes

We follow the ancient traditions of dairy-making, when products contained only milk and live cultures. For us, dairy means pure and unaltered — as close as possible to nature’s intent and the methods of our ancestors. We never add preservatives, thickeners, palm oil, or milk powder, gelatin, using only a minimal number of simple, honest ingredients.
Because we avoid preservatives, our products naturally have a short shelf life, which is why we produce them daily. For us, taste and nutritional value always begin with authenticity.

Recycling

We use only recyclable plastic or glass packaging, supported by our return program that gives jars and bottles a second life — either reused or sent for recycling. Our customers are actively involved in this program, and those who collect and return packaging receive gifts as a thank-you. You can learn more about this program here. What we cannot reuse ourselves is handed over to EcoBali Recycling for processing. Our waste is carefully sorted into multiple categories — from recyclable materials to other waste streams — ensuring that each type is properly managed and disposed of in an environmentally responsible way.

Selecting Our Suppliers

For many years, we have carefully and thoughtfully chosen each partner and supplier. We work directly with local producers and farmers, personally visiting and learning how they operate. It is essential for us to collaborate with people who share our values of sustainable farming — free from hormones, growth stimulants, antibiotics, and harmful chemicals. This applies to all our suppliers, from dairy farmers to growers of berries and fruits.

Wholesale

We have been working with wholesale partners for many years, collaborating with major retail chains, hotels, and restaurants, as well as independent businesses. Our dedicated wholesale department, managed by a separate team of specialists, ensures that retail and wholesale operations never overlap, allowing for a focused and efficient service.
We are highly flexible and can adapt to your needs — from creating larger packaging sizes to adjusting recipes or even developing entirely new products exclusively for you. We can also customize packaging, from design to container type, to perfectly match your brand or operational requirements.
